Photograph of Haughton Green Young People's Centre Main RoomThe main room at the Young Peoples Centre is a multi purpose facility, hosting various activities. The room includes TV/DVD equipment, tables and chairs and a disabled lift, which would all be available for a course or programme hosted by the centre. Kitchen facilities are also available adjacent to the main room, including hot drink facilities, a microwave, cooker and fridge.

The centre includes a modern IT suite, housing five computers, all with a broadband Internet connection. The computers can also be made available for training courses and classes.

Examples of classes and programmes already taking place at the centre include the Art Group, which meets each Wednesday morning and the Mums and Tots group who meet each Tuesday and Thursday. The centre also hosts a Dancing class, seniors group, a sexual health clinic and from Mid-July a before and after school club.

The Tameside and Glossop Primary Care trust are also due to be making use of a side room at the centre, in the near future. They are also interested in running classes, such as Tai Chi, in the sports hall attached to the main room.
