Filming and Photography

Portland Basin Museum’s recreated street, with its old fashioned parlour, kitchen, school room, grocer’s shop, chip shop and more, is ideal for period photoshoots or film scenes looking for an early twentieth century backdrop. We have been used for promotional videos, student project work and short films, as well as fashion shoots.

Commercial filming can be accommodated outside of museum opening hours (usually on a Monday when the museum is closed, or after 4pm). Occasionally we can accommodate filming and photography during opening hours, depending on the circumstances. Every filming request is assessed on a case-by-case basis and our charges are available on request. If you’re interested in using Portland Basin Museum either as a location for filming or commercial photography, please send us a message via the box at the bottom of the page.
