However, if you fall into one of the following groups, the calculator may not be suitable as special rules can often apply. If this affects you, contact a local advice agency for support in checking your benefits.

• Students
• People under 18
• People permanently in residential care, nursing home or hospital
• Prisoners
• People on strike
• People who are not British or Irish citizens
• UK nationals who live abroad
