Crematorium
The Crematorium is situated at Dukinfield cemetery, where services for both burials and cremations are held at the multi-denominational chapel with seating for between 80 and 100 people.
The waiting room and toilets, including facilities for the disabled, are to be found in the crematorium building. Toilets are also available at the Memorial Lodge.
Wheelchairs are available both at the Chapel and the Crematorium office should visitors require to use one.
Media Services are available to the Crematorium Chapel via the Wesley system, this includes music, visual tribute, recordings and live webcasts. All requests must be made to your appointed funeral director.
Relatives of the deceased may choose to have the ashes interred in a family grave in any of the Council's cemeteries, or collected and taken elsewhere for scattering or interment.
Alternatively, they may be dispersed in the Garden of Remembrance around the crematorium under the careful supervision of crematorium staff, with the family in attendance, if so desired.
Car park facilities are available at the main entrance of the Crematorium and an overspill car park is available just past the crematorium chapel on the left hand side. Alternatively, if the car parks are busy please park on the left side of the main drive only but please be mindful of the memorial plaques and allow access for families to tend to their memorial plaque. Two disabled parking bays are available directly outside the Crematorium chapel.
We have a new Mulberry Garden on our Main Driveway with an everlasting Mulberry Tree for which you can purchase a Memorial Leaf with an inscription for your loved one and we can also arrange for scatterings of ashes under the tree. We also have a Post Box so you can post “A Letter to Heaven” to your loved ones. The Post Box stands on the Main Drive close to the Mulberry Garden. All items posted are entirely private and are not opened, read or replied to. All items are disposed of respectfully and confidentially. The Post Box is available for anyone who feels they may benefit from sending a card, writing a note, letter or poem to someone they have lost

- The Book of Remembrance inscriptions are entered under the date of death and a page is turned daily so that the names appear annually on the anniversary day.
- Benches can be purchased in memory of you loved one. These are specially made out of recycled material which make them less prone to damage or vandalism. A memorial plaque may be fixed to the bench and it will be bolted firmly into the ground. The Customer and Senior Registrar will agree the location of the bench prior to ordering. Every effort will be made to locate it as near to your loved ones resting place.
We have a variety of Memorials available including Stone Look and Boutonierre plaques, Brass plaques, Memorial Leaves, Granite Vases, Sanctums and Columbariums. Please click on the link below for more information
