Summer Reading Challenge 2024
Marvellous Makers
Join the Marvellous Makers, a Creative Club who are making amazing things inspired by their favourite books for a festival at their local library. Tails a cheeky squirrel has been spotted at the Creative Club recently and a few items have mysteriously gone missing from the creative toolbox. What is she up too?
The Challenge will celebrate encouraging individuality and expression through creativity, taking part and having fun.

Children can sign up to take part in Marvellous Makers at Tameside libraries this summer holidays. It’s fun, friendly and absolutely free! All you have to do is read 6 library books and collect rewards along the way. The challenge launches on Saturday 6 July and runs until Christmas, so there is plenty of time to get on with that reading! What do I do?
What do I get when I complete the challenge?
What else can I do?
Special Pre-school Challenge! Pre-school children can also take part in a special Marvellous Makers challenge! Children who will not be at primary school in September can collect a Marvellous Makers Mini-Challenge card on which to collect stickers when they read books, plus a gold medal sticker when they complete the challenge.
*If you usually only use the library during Open+ hours and want to take part, please send us a message using the link below, including the name and library card number of children wanting to take part and the library you go to. Rewards can then be left in the reserved book area in the library. Alternatively you may wish to collect all the rewards at the end of the Challenge during staffed hours. |
