The Business Growth Hub is a community of specialists with a passion to help businesses across Greater Manchester realise their ambitions. Since 2011, they have supported more than 15,000 businesses across GM. They support businesses at all stages of their growth journey with a broad range of services. The Hub offers expert one-to-one and peer-to-peer business support, events, specialist programmes, funding and much more. Most of the support is fully funded and provided at no direct cost to your business.

Skills Support for Growth

Skills Support for Growth is a fully funded skills consultation service tailored to upskill employees, improve productivity, and drive business growth. Their expert skills consultants work at your pace to help grow your business by identifying skills gaps, developing your talent, and enhancing your team’s performance.

Tameside is supported by Skills Support for Growth Account Manager, Lyndsay Thomas, who provides a quick turnaround for Tameside businesses requiring help with apprenticeships, training, and qualifications for their employees. We refer via email, introducing the business and their needs, and Skills Support for Growth respond within 24 hours to update us on the outcome of the discussion. They attend our events on a regular basis which keeps them up to date with the needs and skill gaps in the borough.

The Tameside Libraries Information Service offers a wide range of business information, including help on setting up a new business, expanding an existing one, investigating the competition, and marketing your business.

Build A Business GM

Build A Business is an innovative new project aimed at small businesses, entrepreneurs, and anyone thinking of starting their own business.

It’s running in libraries across all ten Greater Manchester authorities including Tameside, offering tailored support to new businesses.  They are committed to offering a variety of workshops and services, including information surgeries, digital support for online selling, business planning, and pitching assistance.

MIDAS

MIDAS is the inward investment promotion agency for Greater Manchester, with a strategic aim of securing significant levels of new investment for the city region to create and safeguard jobs.

This is achieved through the global business marketing of the city region's key sectors, and the provision of an extensive package of free advice and assistance for potential investors and location consultants.

MIDAS has helped hundreds of businesses successfully relocate to or expand in Greater Manchester. MIDAS is represented in Tameside by Cherryanne Cooper, who has been an integral part of the Large Employers Network, encouraging employer participation and introducing new members. They represent many of our established large businesses, allowing them to gain inward investment and opportunities, contributing to continued growth of the borough.

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce is the largest accredited Chamber of Commerce in the UK with over 4000 members.
