The council is committed to a period of listening alongside the evidence gathering to genuinely hear people’s voices on this topic.
Feedback from the public and stakeholders was set alongside a range of other considerations to inform a final planYou Said
Total of engagement was 3,033 which included Facebook, public, stakeholder and other engagement.
Main points raised were:
- Car parking charges
- Unhappy about parking charges – not coming to town
- Parking Charges at Wellness Centre
- Cheaper parking passes should be made available
- Current parking charges encouraging people to park on street and cause obstructions
“We Did”
Reduced parking charges to £1.00 for up to 3 hours parking during the hours of 8am-6pm Monday – Saturday
Provided up to 2 hours free parking at all short and long stay car parks including the Wellness Centre
Parking passes are currently charged at a reasonable discounted rate if used on a daily basis
