Community Forum
Residents will have the chance to discuss Tameside Council’s budget priorities and regeneration developments at the next round of Community Forums across the borough.

Community Forums are providing stronger opportunities for town-level engagement between residents and the council – with people encouraged to pop along and have their say.

The latest round will begin with attendees choosing which round table discussion to join – either the council’s budget or growth and regeneration. Information will be supplied and the opportunity to have discussions with councillors and officers, with views gathered and fed into the main agenda items.

The forums will take place at:

  • Denton: Wednesday 18 November, 6.30pm-8.30pm, at Yew Tree Community Centre, Denton
  • Droylsden and Audenshaw: Thursday 19 November, 6.30pm-8.30pm, at Ryecroft Hall, Audenshaw
  • Ashton and Mossley: Monday 23 November, 6.30pm-8.30pm, at The Vale, Unit 2, Vale Mill, Micklehurst Road, Mossley OL5 9JL
  • Stalybridge and Dukinfield: Tuesday 24 November, 6.30pm-8.30pm, at George Hatton, Dukinfield Town Hall
  • Hyde and Longdendale: Wednesday 25 November, 6.30pm-8.30pm, at St Barnabas Church, Hattersley

Agendas will be available for each forum, alongside more details and future meeting dates, at www.tameside.gov.uk/CommunityForums

The meetings are held in-person, three times a year, with locations rotating to ensure a presence in every town. Each forum consists of elected ward councillors, partner organisations and local people.

The initiative was developed following feedback from residents and councillors to help boost community involvement in decision making in each of the borough’s nine towns.

Tameside Council Executive Leader Cllr Eleanor Wills said: “Everyone is welcome to come along and have their say on the issues that matter to them in their town.

“It’s a great opportunity to find out more about, and feed into, our budget conversation and the developments and regeneration in your town.”
