Street Cleaning

The Council is committed to keeping the borough clean, safe, and free from litter.

Our street cleansing service includes:

Mechanical and manual street sweeping at frequencies designed to maintain clean town centres, residential areas, and public spaces, free from litter and road debris.
We aim to sweep streets every 42 days. However, during periods of leaf fall and winter weather, this frequency will be adjusted to meet operational demands.
The removal of accumulations of rubbish from Council-owned land.
The emptying of litter bins at intervals intended to prevent them from becoming full during normal use.
Support for locally organised community clean-up events.
The prompt removal of offensive or racist graffiti whenever practicable.
Prioritising the safe removal of discarded syringes and other hazardous waste.

You can support our efforts by:
