Pride in Place Impact Fund

We are now accepting applications for the Pride in Place Impact Fund.

This is a £1.5 million investment to improve local pride and community spaces by March 2027. With some funding already committed a remaining £1.3 million is available for 26/27, with funding focusing on three types of improvements:

• Community spaces, by enhancing local facilities and supporting organisations to restore underused areas
• Public spaces, through upgrades to parks, play areas, lighting and street furniture
• High streets and town centres, by revitalising shopfronts, improving markets and enhancing streetscapes.

This funding is available only for capital expenditure i.e. for the purchase or improvement of assets.

The assessment criteria that being used for the scoring of applications is as follows:

• Alignment with Council Plan link here
• Alignment with the Pride in Place Impact Fund strategic priorities
• Whether any other potential funding sources have been explored prior to the Pride in Place Impact Fund
• Is there a requirement of additional / revenue funding to sustain the project
• Are the necessary approvals in place so that the project can go ahead
• Are the mechanisms in place for the project to be delivered
• Is there any risk of change to anticipated costs
• Evidence of stakeholder / elected member support
• What the extent of the community benefits are

As Tameside has also secured £20 million in Pride in Place investment over ten years for Hattersley and Ashton, applications to the Impact Fund will be prioritised for the remaining seven towns and surrounding neighbourhoods not covered by those long‑term programmes.

Community groups, residents, and partners are encouraged to submit investment proposals for the next round that is taking place between 1 March and 30 April 2026. There is an additional round between 1 June and 31 July 2026
