Get advice if you're at risk of being homeless
Facing homelessness is stressful, but the most important thing to do is get advice as soon as possible. There are lots of reasons people may face homelessness, and you don't have to be living on the streets to be homeless. In many cases by taking action and getting advice straight away, your homelessness can be prevented.

Tell us you're at risk of being homeless
If you have used AdviceAid and still need help, then you can tell us you're at risk of homelessness.
To report yourself or someone else at risk complete the online portal below.
What you need to know:
- You have about 20 minutes to fill in each page of this form.
- When you go through the form, don't use your normal 'Back' button to return to an earlier question. Use the 'Previous' button at the bottom of the page you are on.
- Questions marked * can't be left blank.
- To speed up your application, ensure you provide as much detail as possible.
- Please only complete the online portal once. Completing it multiple times will not help your application.
- If you need help or don't have access to the internet, you can get support at your local library. Libraries Home Page - Tameside MBC
To access the portal click here: GMCA Housing Assistance Referral Portal
What will happen after you tell us:
After you've completed the portal, we will contact you as soon as possible to work through your options.
You may be assigned a prevention officer who can explain your options and will work to prevent you becoming homeless. If we can't help you straight away, we might work with your landlord, family or friends, or other agencies.
