GM Mayoral Election

The GM ELECTS website contains all notices and information for the upcoming GM Mayoral Election.

Following a vacancy in the Mayoral office of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, a GM Mayoral Election will take place on 30 July 2026.

Key deadlines

Register to Vote by 23:59 on Tuesday 14 July 2026
Apply for a Postal vote by 17:00 Wednesday 15 July 2026
Apply for a Proxy vote by 17:00 Wednesday 22 July 2026
Apply for a Voter Authority Certificate by 17:00 Wednesday 22 July 2026 if you do not have valid ID.

Polling Stations will be open from 7am-10pm on Thursday 30 July.

Poll cards will be sent towards the end of June for those already registered to vote.

Postal Votes will arrive between 17 July 2026 – 24 July 2026 depending on when you applied to vote by post.
