Tameside Community Safety Team are launching this year’s Tameside Communities Fund Grant opportunity for community organisations, CICs and Charities who can apply for up to £2,000 to deliver a project in Tameside based on one of the three priorities below:

  • Preventing Neighbourhood Crime
  • Reducing Harm & Offending
  • Strengthening Communities & Tackling Inequalities

Funded by Greater Manchester Combined Authorities to support voluntary organisations to build a stronger, safer Tameside by transforming green spaces, supporting wildlife, developing skills, encouraging volunteering and promoting diversity and creative opportunities for people of all backgrounds to come together, learn and support one another.

Through past grants, many groups have  become successful and become more established developing new ideas and encouraging more volunteers.  We particularly encourage new and under-represented groups to apply, now in its fifth year, this is open to Tameside‑registered community organisations, CICs and charities meeting one of the above three priorities.

Grants will open on Monday 2nd  March and close on Friday 27th  March 2026.

The projects that meet the criteria will then be invited to attend an event, where the audience will vote for the projects, they wish to receive funding.

“This is a great way to invest in our local neighbourhoods creating a safer Tameside and building pride in our communities .”
