Building Notice


A building Notice is ideal for competent Builders / Clients who have a good knowledge of the Building Regulations. 

Can be higher risk of Contraventions as only see works as this progress and so may be incorrect and have a contravention Notice issued.

Where works have started on site without a Building Control application being made a Regularisation application will be required to prevent enforcement action being taken.

Reversion Application.


Where a Client has decided to appoint a registered Building Control Approver, and now wishes to use the Local Authority or the RBCA cancels a project under Section 52 of the Building Act 1984 a reversion application should be made.

Notice of Completion (Regulation 16(4A) Required to be completed for all building Control applications within 5 days after works are completed before a Completion certificate can be issued.  

A person who is required by Regulation 12 to give a Building Notice or an application for building control approval with full plans for carrying out building work shall, not more than five days after that work has been completed, give the local authority a notice which complies with Regulation 16 paragraph (4A) as set out below. Requirements of duty holders and their competence can be found in Part 2A of the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended)

If you want to demolish a building over 1750 cubic feet (50 cubic metres) you have to notify us 6 week minimum before you start work

To Submit the Application:

Complete the full plans application form and include at least two copies* of : To fill in the PDF Document Please Click ‘T’ and place Text box on the section you want to fill in before clicking Save

  • All detailed plans / specifications and calculations.
  • A 1:1250 scale location plan (block plan), showing the size and position of the proposal and its relationship to adjoining boundaries.
  • The appropriate charge payment (please have a look at the Building Control Charges page).

*Floor plans and elevations are required for work to properties where persons are employed and / or are subject to a Fire Certificate under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 e.g. shops, factories, offices, public buildings etc.
