Providing sufficient new homes to meet the needs of current and future residents is a key priority for the Council. To support this, the Council monitors housing delivery, identifies land with development potential, and promotes the effective use of land. 

The Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) and 2026 Brownfield Land Register (BLR) identify sites with development potential across the borough and support the efficient reuse of previously developed (brownfield) land.
