Roadshow to help with Pension Credit Claims

Press Release: 13/09/2024

Older people are invited to drop-in support sessions across Tameside to find out if they’re eligible for an estimated £7 million of unclaimed Pension Credit.

Tameside Council’s Welfare Rights are hosting a Pension Credit Roadshow which will visit several locations across Tameside. These in-person sessions allow older residents, who are over State Pension age, find out if they’re eligible for Pension Credit and check they’re getting all the benefits they are entitled to.

In Tameside there is an estimated 3,200 people who are entitled not claiming Pension Credit, a government benefit which provides extra money for those over State Pension age with a low income. If eligible people may also be able to access other entitlements such as Winter Fuel Payments, housing costs, reduced Council Tax, NHS costs, and more.
