(NWSSON)

Image of jigsaw with four pieces showing counties in the north westThe North West Scrutiny Support Officers' Network (NWSSON) was established in 2004 and is administered by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.

The Network meets three times per year, allowing officers supporting scrutiny to come together to:

  1. Discuss common issues and problems relating to scrutiny.
  2. Share good practice.
  3. Provide feedback/consultation from the North West to the National Scrutiny Networks Forum organised by the Centre for Public Scrutiny Link to External Website.

The Secretary to the Network disseminates information and examples of good practice to the members of the Network and acts as a point of contact. She also compiles agendas and minutes for meetings and provides logistical support.
