Working for Tameside as an apprentice will give you the opportunity to earn some money whist you are studying for a qualification and gaining some fantastic experience. During your Apprenticeship you start by studying for a level 2 NVQ in a relevant vocational area, although for some positions you may go straight onto a level 3 NVQ depending on the job and your qualifications and experience.
The current rates of pay for a Tameside Apprenticeship are as follows:
| Age | Rate of Pay |
| 16 – 17 | £3.84 per hour |
| 18 – 20 | £5.12 per hour |
| 21+ | £5.93 per hour (in first year of apprenticeship) £6.08 per hour (after first year of apprenticeship) |
The standard working week is 36 hours, most apprenticeships will be employed for the full 36 hours. The NVQ training will involve job training on a day or block release basis at a local training centre and, or training in the work place.
