As a member of the Crime and Disorder Sub-Committee, I Chair the meeting attended by representatives from the Police, District Assembly Advisors and Councillor Officers.

With regards to PACT meetings, it is the aim to raise awareness of community concerns with those present who will be able to assist in resolving these matters.

There are 5 surgeries held each month at various locations which I attend with my ward colleagues.

Training and Development

I am keen to attend Member’s training sessions as I have over the last 12 months, together with seminars and conferences in relation to my brief.

Achievements during the Year

Progression with regeneration in Droylsden to include the Metrolink development

Throughout the year I have visited many local primary schools, secondary schools, Sure Start centres, libraries and refurbished sports centres as part of the Tameside Sports Trust.

It has been a privilege to present awards to Tameside Achievers i.e. adult learning event, apprentice open evening, Tameside boys’ final (football), and Tameside pupil achievement awards.

Completion of the BSF programme.

Any other comments

As an elected councillor for Droylsden West and in my capacity as Cabinet Deputy for Learning and Achievement I will continue to serve the community to the best of my ability.
